ARTIST STATEMENT

Watercolor painting by its very nature involves an immediacy of action  and vibrancy of color that make it an excellent mode of expression. My latest paintings have been influenced by my reading of Dante’s  Inferno. Though I didn’t try to overly portray the suffering of the damned, I did  try to capture a mood a tragic “mis-en scene”. In viewing these paintings let  your imagination complete the scenes. Enjoy!
